I have kept question for a long time, about CSR. Or, Corporate Social Responsibility.
When we talked about CSR, its answer is always, environmental issue, as green, CO2 emmission etc. I feel something weird sense for a long time.

When we mention about CSR, first of all, why should companies do such activity.
The most plausible answer is that Company consume social resource, especially, human power, that is cultivated by society. Therefore companies should pay back to the society.
However, why does Taiwanese companies plant trees?
Think about, someone give you snake for reward of which you helped him, because snake is his favorate creature, you obviously(perhaps) don't appreciate this present. Why? because, you don't demand snake.

Present must be of what accepter demands.
Social resposibility is same. Think about Taiwanese society, does they really demand solving environmental issue, as Co2 emission?
Social demand is social member's total opinion. I see Taiwanese society, especially, Green.
Its life is far from Green, riding motor cycle, free parking, driving car.
they know, it is harmful, but for them more important thing is seemingly improving their consuming life freely, they need freedom, and money!! For that they need more salary, they need more stock.

Therefore, Taiwanese companies' social responsibility is absolutely not environmental issue, but money, that is more plenty compensation, job stability. Those are thier priori responsibility.
I think too much scholars have wrong idea about CSR. It aim is not make companies look beautiful, but fulfilling society's demand.

From Today, December starts.
December is for Japanese important month,
we Japanese are very busy to do, and should review whole year.
And it is exciting month as well for us, because we have Christmas, and year-end count down.
Anyway, our semester ignore our Japanese custom, I should abandon to enjoy it.

Today, we mentioned about Service productivity.
At first we debated about "Value". In the Socialist society, value is proportionate to working hours of which produce the goods or service. But Capitalism, we live can't apply it.
Our value is only represented by price of which Customer accepted.
Manufacturing goods can easy to cross the border but service especially of whichone to one can't. Therefore thier value differ in one country and another.
And productivity is dependent on amount of added value, so service "Productivity" is depended on price of which accepted by customers as well as the efficiency of the producing.
In terms of service, we agreed, it is hard to increase its efficiency, that means it is hard to increase its productivity as well.

But there is a way you can increase its added value.
Today, I "dare" not teach you. I already have given all hints, you try to find it.

By the way, Japan and Taiwan has been grawn by manufacturing, and exporting them.
Now we faced new phase that we abandon manufacturing and enter into the service economy with brave. But Service productivity's problem disturb us. How do we resolve it??

Today we talked about "the shouldn't" in the classroom.
As newspaper, we know now Taiwanese Students attitudes in classroom
faced controversy. Actually, I have considered it is one kind of culture gap, so it is not a task I should tackle. I know Taiwanese students are very gentle, therefore they do such impolite, it does not mean they irrespect us teachers, but barely they ignore its impoliteness.
Last Tuesday I participated in some teacher education seminar. Some lecture, coming from Chung-li give us meaningful presentaion. Yet the women sat in my back chat continuously, it distrubed me lots and annoyed me. I wondered who they are, I glanced them, to my surprise, they are professors of our Yuan. It makes me dissapointed and feeling so shameful.
It could be habit in Taiwan, But I think, it is bad habit, it interrupt other's right, should be correct.

Today I reterned middle term exam for you.
I'm afraid you, You felt dissapointed your score didn't you?
In my opinion, Exam should be also pleasure for you students and me teacher.
So, My exam requested you your originalty.
You know, I am as a knowledge worker, I read English and Chinese newspapers,
one weekly English and Japanese magazines, four monthly Chinese magazines
and one English monthly magagines. For You students,
it is actually very hard to find your originalty,
from the published articles.
But I inform you, you all have your own originalty.
In fact, It is your life experience.
Fortunately, our subjects, Economics or Management or other organization sutudies
are studies, which have been around of you.
You've have various experiences, which I don't know.
It is your originalty, It is your strength.
You can make use of them, can conceive your own create ideas.

Today we accidentally enjoyed debating.
Especially, I've impressed the debate " Is Earning money Virtue?"
After Adam Smith, it is praised that we persue our desire.
Particularly, we Asian person are free from Religious restriction,
We tend to persue money or other things greedy.
But we have also be taught by "ru-jiao" we shouldn't be greedy.
Economics and management is not subjects to make money,
but to study our society and organization, it is my creed.

However though, such problem doesn't have one right answer.
It depends each people's value point.
But I still disagree with that university is a place to teach earning money...
Because of my education in Japan, I can't abandon the idea to earn money, and to become rich is something that can't be respectable, it is rather shameful things.

Yet, if you can insist with proof, it is your right answer!!
Today I see you interest your opinions, I am encouraged, you are so hopeful students.
I expect your middle exam.

Yesterday we'd mentioned about "しょうしこうれいか　少子高齢化"or Aging.
As my home town, Miyakonojo is progressing "しょうしこうれいか"
As the picture which has so much eldery persons waiting bus,
in the central of the city of Miyakonojo. In the picture, we can't find any young people.
It is also progressing "かそか 過疎化" or under population.
In Miyakonojo, there is no University, no jobs for young person, almost of young person
had gone away from this town.
It is so shocked for me. In the past, there are lots of people to buy something.
I had aspired that place, in the past.
Yet, Now, nothing.
Toy stores had been shutterd, because there few children near there.
Only a erdery persons wait a bus for hospital, where thier communicating space...

Yesterday we mentioned about franchise.
Inthe automobile industory, franchised stores are called
Dealers. Dealers sell new cars and buy used cars and sell used car.
Market is limited, or people who can buy new cars are limited.
Therefore, for nourishing our economy, rich men buy new car, one after another.
In the process, dealers should buy there used cars and sell them to other relative poor person.
Both of selling new cars, and used cars, dealers can get profit, but generally, used car sale is
better than new car sales. Therefore, by the principle of the economics, dealers want to sell
used cars rather than new cars.

But franchise could restrict them to do such betraying.
If the makers admit the dealer is not adequate for franchise,
they can cancell its franchise. After cancellation, the dealer is not GM,
but just a store, which sell and buy used cars.
As a result, the profit of the store would be harmed heavily. Because, franchise sometime
represents "Reliance" of the store.
Maker gives dealer "Reliance" dearer gives maker "Service" to sell new cars.
Like this the conflict between two is harmonized.

Good example is Covenience stores.
large proportion of the 7-11 are franchises.
Thier owners are not employees of 7-11.
They pay "Royalty" to use the sigh of 7-11.
7-11 HQ provides them 7-11 quality and reliance.
If the service is not good, HQ can cancell its franchise,
because it would suffer 7-11 quality.

Yesterday, it was unveiled that US bank CIT goes to bankrupcy.
Before that, Mr. Obama told its people, recession had been end.
I don't know who but it is obviously some economists give wrong perceptive for him.
We economists had made so much mistakes for a long time.
But I believe they are not liars, it only their data and theories were inperfect.
If they have good will to accept thier mistakes, they are saved from misunderstanding.
If they couldn't they are still harmful economists.

It is quite same as teacher, as we.
Our knowledge is not necessarily accurate.
Though we don't want to teach a wrong knowledge at all,
but sometime our knowledge is based on incomplete imformation or theories or convictions,
we make mistakes.
If the students prove the teachers' mistakes, teachers are saved from the hell of misunderstanding and fallacy.
Teachers in university is not only teachers for students, but also scholars, it affects to the nation.
You can correct teacher's fallcy, you would be able to save your nation.

Therefore, next middle exam I don't show any hints about the questions, because I am afraid that my stuborn ideas affects and harms you student's flesh and creativeness.

Socrates said,
"I am happy to have a mistaken idea of mine proved wrong.
I am happy to prove someone else's mistaken ideas wrong.
I am certainly not less happy if I am proved wrong than
if I 've proved someone else wrong,
because I've been saved from that's better for me than saving someone else".

Today, we'd mentioned about the US beef.
This problem rekated to our two faces,
That's as a Capitalist and a Socialist.

Though many Taiwanese opposed to import the US beef,
Taiwanese government accepted to import that.
It seemingly strange. Why do government such brutal behavior?
Is that forced by US, Goverment grudgingly accepted?
Does Rude American forced to do that?

All are not true.
Taiwanese goverment have a reason to accept that.
Because Taiwanese manufacturing should export to US its products.
If Taiwanese don't accept, US could make restraint against Taiwanese products.
It would harm Taiwanese companies crucially.
So we can conclude that decision is made by Taiwanese Capitalist's face.
The person who employed companies has Capitalist's face.
They hope thier company bigger, making more profit.
If the GDP grew they would feel happy.
They'd like to produce more and more, and sell that more and more, and get more and more profit.
Yes, they are capitalists.
But thier products can' t comsume in their countries, they should be exported.
For the aim of the capitalist, US beef should be imported.

But we have another face, as socialists.
We workers are not a materials for productions, we should have live.
We persue the better life, happier life, for that we consume, eat or drink and relax.
Its our socialists face, it refused US beef, it could cause mad cow disease for keeping
our life more safety and stably.
These needs now conflicted in Taiwan.
We can't blame American for rude request, because they consume our goods so that we can live a better life.
They make our economy turn smoothly.
And please think about, for US society, exporting is invasion.
Yes, Taiwanese PC invade USA's socity's market, it suffers.
If Taiwanese want to export something, it should accept thier product.

The comment for the Japanese management class

Today we study about On the Job training,
We today tried simple examination for knowing the essence of tacit knowledge.
At first, we made Working Manual, that is basic works of scientific management.
Observe jobs and analysis them, and make more accurate motion order.
Working speed is dependent on its accuracy and facilitating.
But you knew, the performance of the job, today, we measure time,
even though he used same manual, but his performance was improved.
But he didn't know where were improved.
Its Tacit knowledge. OJT is needed for acquiring those knowledge, can't explain.

And Today, we have two presentations,
I'm impressed, they made such big work.
I should praise them.
Yet, in terms of thier presentation skill, it should be improved.
Presentation, it convey something knowledge to audience.
We should observe audience's face. and follow audience's pace, when we make presentation.
We can't use words audience can't understand, of course can't use words you can't explain.

And Japanese mobile phone's market share, we'd mentioned.
NTT DOCOMO is No.1 share about 48%, AU(KDDI)occupies 28%, Soft bank occupies 19%.
Their presentation is not wrong, I mis-memorized.

Today we studied about the expression about seasons.
Japan is also have four seasons.
Cold winter has snow　ふゆはさむいです。　ゆきがふります。
Warm spring has cherry blossom.　はるはあたたかいです。 さくらがさきます。
Hot summer we swim in the sea. なつはあついです。　うみでおよぎます。
Cool fall we see red leaves. 　あきはすずしいです。　こうようをみます。

10/15 comment for the class for histrical management

Today I was so glad that see a good presentation.
What are good points in their presentation, you know?
At first, they only use words which they can explain.
It is an important point to convince audience.
If you use the words you can't explain, it will suffer your confidence.
It is a great damege for presentation.
Persuading power is determined by the function,
Persuading Power = (knowledge)x(presentation skill)x(confidence)
And second they know adequate demonstration by using function of PP.
It shouldn't too mcuh as well.
And third they have their idea which is shown the last.
It is based on premature knowledge, as well.

Comment for the class Japanese management in 10/13

Today, We studied about Japanese companies' job rotation and deployment.
Their aim is to cultivate multi skill (knowledge) workers.
Broad range of knowledge and experience would help to creative innovation.

Creative Idea is not God given things but conceived from our brain,
but in which we should have plenty knowledge and experience.
New creation is derived from vague idea, we don't clearly, but something weird.
And by exploiting our all of knowledge and experience, we make shape of the target.
After we've made the target in explicit image, we can look for solutions against its target,
by making use of your knowledge and experiences.
That new solution is innovation.

So all of us in the new era need to learn to time of death.
we continuously absorb knowledge and accumulate experiences.
Creative idea sound somewhat difficult things, seemingly only genius people can do,
But actually, we all can create new idea, as far as we keep studing.
Yet, some luck would influence to the speed of achievement as well.

Japanese English (1)

Almost of Japanese have English complex.
It is said thier less confident led their poorness of speaking English.
But actually, there are other problems left in terms of skill.
It is thier pronunciation.

It is hard to distinguish for Japanese, [r] and [l],
[s] and [th], [z] and[th"] ,[h] and [f] , [h] and [v].
For them, when they are less cautious hearing,
they lesten these pronunciation as indifferent.
Consequently, when they speak, make same mistake.

It is for me as a Japanese, my enforcement point to improvement English now.
